Previously posted asking for suggestions on how to improve this “meh” paintings
Thank you all for your suggestions! I know it’s not perfect but the changes and added details have given this painting a whole new life! I was ready to toss it before but now I am proud of the improvements.
Details on what I changed: 1. I added a blue wash to make the water less green so the contrast of colors was more vibrant
Deepened the orange hives with some vibrant reds
Added more shading around the fish and lily pads
Added more depth and lines to the fish and the lily pads
Added dark swirls to create an illusion of movement in the water
Added small details like eyes and fine white lines for an extra pop
