Water Softener Salt Setting
Post Body

I recently purchased an SS1 SpringWell water softener and had plumbers install it. It seems that no matter what GPG I set it at itโ€™s softening the water at a very high level. I initially tested my water by sending to a lab and had a reading it was 16GPG but even when I set the new softener to 3GPG the reading using at home test strips is 0.

Is the new softener not working properly and just over softening? Any advice welcomed. Thanks!

Also is it bad to switch the softener to bypass (with the knobs directly on it) when I water my lawn? Not sure if itโ€™s made to be run via bypass frequently.
