[DIY brushing] Tips for brushing center links of polished braclet

I just got a watch, and while I love it, the links in the centre of the braclet are very shiny/glossy while the outer links are brushed steel. I found some videos online of people brushing the links themselves with scotchbrite and they are able to acheive decent results.

I wonder if anyone has advice about this? I realise that its probably better to get several different grit (how fine they are) scotchbrite and brush the entire bracelet first with the coarsest brite pad and then use finer and finer pads until all of the links match. Does anyone have any advice on this? Is it possible to go to a regular watch store and ask if they can polish it (for a fee ofc)?
