Quick back story, I've finished sixth form now (even though the shitty exams are on right now), and in my usually stupid decision, I want a watch.
Now the sensible me originally thought of getting The Orient Bambino V4, as it's different to the hamilton khaki king I currently have. It's a cheap watch, automatic, it doesn't have the odd strap size of the other versions, and overall it's a great watch.
Not too expensive, and I thought about getting a dress watch to wear to Prom, along with to use both casually and formally in the future.
But then the stupid me recently saw the Timex Archive collection, where they've been producing some cracking looking watches based on their old watches.
And then I came across This. It's hard to describe since it has no name and there aren't any reviews I can see. But the stupid and unwise side of me loves it.
The analogue and digital design, there's something so different about it that I just love. Even never having owned something like it, the black resin case, even the velcro strap. Now I can't help but think it'd make me look like I'm 12 years old, but I don't know why I've loved it so much. I think it's because it comes with a special travel case and extra strap, and I'm a sucker for those things.
So, your advice. Do I go the sensible and practical route, and buy a nice dress watch which not only looks the part, but I probably need one at some point. Or do I go down the unique and wacky route, and get something so bonkers it's kind of cool? I appreciate I've written a lot, and it's not like I'm about to send £2k on the decision, but I'm just wondering if I should have some sense talked to me.
