So I am very keen on picking up a Tudor Black Bay as an early birthday present to myself and my first luxury watch. I went into my local AD and really liked the look of the black bezel model as I prefer simple colour combinations. However, I mainly wear leather straps, and while I like the idea of a bracelet, it just doesn't do anything for me when I try it on.
After asking when they would get the black bezel/leather model in, and they responded today saying that Tudor was quoting them 12-16 weeks before they could get them delivered.
So here are the options I was given:
1) Buy the black bezel w/ bracelet, and once the leather straps arrive they will give me one free of charge. This means I will spend more money for a bracelet I may not wear, but at the same time it may be nice to have a bracelet down the line if I change my view on them.
2) Buy the red bezel w/ leather. I will have to take another look at the red bezel model, as although it looks great, it wasn't what initially caught my eye.
3) Wait 12-16 weeks for a black bezel w/ leather model. I am quite impatient and I hate the idea of having to wait til the summer is over before I can get my birthday present. Also, I have the funds for a hefty deposit now, and I don't trust myself to keep onto it for 12-16 weeks.
Any other options that I haven't observed yet? Any advice is more than welcome. Thanks.
Edit: Also, they told me that Tudor are doing away with the extra fabric strap that comes with the BBs, so if I wait, I will only have the leather option, whereas if I pay more now, I will have all three once the leather arrives.
