I recently visited Aruba and dove this shipwreck while I was there. This ship is the SS Antilla. Built in 1939, the SS Antilla was a German cargo ship, supposedly one of the largest of its kind at the time. When Germany invaded the Netherlands in 1940, the Antilla was anchored off the coast of Aruba, which was part of the Dutch territories. Rather than allowing the Dutch authorities to seize the ship, the German crew decided to scuttle it, intentionally sinking the vessel.

The wreck of the Antilla rests in the shallow waters near Malmok Beach, about 60 feet below the surface. Its large size and relatively shallow location make it one of the most accessible and impressive underwater sites in the Caribbean.
