I want to preface my question(s) with quick background.
I'm a relatively new watch enthusiast. Started with the watch gurus on YouTube, started to do my own research and began developing my own tastes, etc. I've easily learned the most here lurking daily.
My 3 watches I bought all retail. I see now I probably didn't have to.
Tudor BB58 @ the Tudor store in the city Longines Spirit Zulu @ Tourneau Oris Big Date @ Tourneau
I'm going to drop into the Tourneau later today because I'll be in the area. I have nothing specific I want to buy but not gonna lie, I'm itching to add to the collection. I'm well aware that could be more of a instant gratification issue than actually wanting to add a nice watch to my collection for the right reasons.
In any event, now that I've seen how tough it is to get an AD to take you serious (when it comes to rolex) are there any tips you can give me? Just be normal? I mean I'm sure they get jackasses like me in every day saying they want a Rolex. But I will buy one and have the means. So...I am serious.
While I'm in there I do want to see what Omegas they have and if they have any Grand Seikos.
Is it bad form to browse? The last 2 times I was in there I bought something. Today, unless a specific watch is there, I'm not going to purchase anything.
And lastly, do I even bother purchasing an Omega or GS retail anyway?
While I'll appreciate anyone that gives me solid advice, feel free to troll me if you wish.
