To a certain extent I get it, but when a watch declares that it's resistant greater than 30 meters - I mean, what's the point?
Take for example the Brietling Super Ocean - claims to be able to go to 2000m - but why? No diver is going that deep, I'm not even sure it's possible, even for saturation divers. So what is with these ridiculous large values?
Back when these watches were "truly" diving watches and they may have gotten some use out of that function these guys weren't going much farther than 100m below the surface, if that.
Also nobody is using a watch to calculate how fast they traversed a distance are they?
