The region of California is a very diverse one, in many ways, too. From its cultural diversity and the racial diversity of its people, to its biodiversity manifesting itself in scores of species of animals and plants, to, what is of interest at the moment, its geographical and geological diversity. From the hottest desert in the world, to the tallest mountains West of the Rockies, to the most fertile valley in the world, to the coastal hills and cliffs, the savannahs, the greatest natural harbor in the world (lots of "in the worlds" here in the Golden Red State), to the beautiful forested slopes in the north. While not the lands of the mighty and famous redwood trees, the Cascade Ranges have their southernmost parts in California, and these regions are not only pretty but very useful. The Iron Mountain Mine in Shasta is just one example of the abundance of minerals in California and the fortune we have for being born in this beautiful land.
Truly, we are blessed.
