Post Body

In the cool morning air of the predawn desert, all that could be heard was the ringing of warhorns and the trample of cavalry. The Nomad force had decided their opponent would be easily out ranged, and had tried to launch skirmishing attacks across their front and flanks.

A trumpeting of Elephants turned their front into a rout, as the great lumbering beasts advanced steadily through the clouds of arrows. The flanks were different. Alai Riders broke into the nomads Cantabrian Circles, and all broke out into melee - to which the riders were heavily outnumbered. With all their armour and training, they held long enough to allow the foot to engage, but what was left of them pulled back quickly. All the while, Alai bowmen rained arrows across the enemy force.

The advance of Elephant with supporting infantry was too much for the nomads, and soon they were tearing through the enemy camp. The flanks faltered and peeled away. The enemy warlord was found amongst the injured and taken captive, and the great horns rung out again in victory.

Despite their success, it was a poor showing for the Alai cavalry, which they had long thought to be one of their greater strengths. More effort would be needed to equip these forces in future, it was decided.

OOC: I um. I researched Cavalry. Shhhh, I know I should have done this earlier.
