I stopped playing this game months ago because there’s no place for casual players in Warzone anymore. Unless you are playing hours a day and on a PC then you will spend most of your time in pregame lobbies and padding the stats of sweats. Between being on console and a below average to average player Warzone just isn’t fun anymore, unless you like the constant cycle of loading in to a game followed quickly by a death from someone slide cancelling past you as you try to get shots on them, usually failing horribly.

There’s been a very noticeable decline in the Warzone player base over the past year. Though the end of lockdown explains a part of it, most of this fall has been due to the environment of the game in its current state. Players have turned away from the game and the try hards who devote an unhealthy part of life to this unrealistic world. Those who aren’t able or willing to devote the same, well, we don’t stand a chance. On top of that the Devs decided to erase our one advantage helping us to stay in games a little longer and possible squeak out a kill or two when they nerfed Ghost to a pointless perk no one wants to use.

Yesterday and the start of today I decided to try my hand at Warzone again, hoping the time away may have eased my anxiety and help me do just a little bit better. Since I haven’t stopped playing MP I knew my aim and movement would still be as good as ever (that’s not saying much). I am not pleased to say that I was quickly re-introduced to the issues I have always hated! Over. 10 game period I had 11 kills and 24 deaths. I looted several redeploy tokens which let to 3 deaths a game instead of the usual 2. I only play solo mode, or buy backs would lead to even more deaths. My aim was really good, and if I got shots at an enemy then I hit them. Here were a couple that were problems though;

Once I shot a redeploying enemy as he landed on his loadout. I quickly broke his armor and hit hit behind the crate and didn’t get his loadout. As I moved it n on an enemy with no plates, I had all 3, I kept shooting him but he shot me with a pistol and won the fight! That should never be possible! I was still hitting him, but with a pistol he deleted me. No armor, a pistol, still being shot and he ducks, comes up and gets shot even more. Still he wins. Another time I’m moving in on an enemy behind a shed. From my viewpoint he wasn’t even visible. From the kill cam I was sticking way out to the side and he saw me full frontal and oblivious. That’s FOV for you! On and on these scenarios went. So, Warzone is still the baron wasteland of death for all players who play for fun instead of making it a way of life.

Warzone 2 will be out soon and I know my hopes are futile, but I pray that casual players send a loud message by staying away. Unless FOV is addressed these issues will continue. With PC players having advantages they need to offer the option of turning of cross gameplay for console players. Finally, SBMM has to go!!! I love Warzone, or I should say I love the possibilities of Warzone. The current game though, I just fucking hate it!
