Post Body

Going to get my buddy a VR setup for WT he's been wanting for years this year, but want to keep it somewhat sane (~1k)

He currently has a 6700K, 1060 3GB, 16GB RAM.

I'd like to get him an Oculus Rift S, 2060 Super (I've had stuttering issues in games with AMD cards so I'm sticking with Nvidia for now) and torn between T16000M or Warthog.

Few questions:

  • It seems like anything better than the Rift S will be significantly more expensive (plus the Quest seems front heavy, less comfortable, compressed visuals through USB, 72Hz). Does anyone have this and does the 80Hz really bother them that much?
  • Will the 2060 Super be sufficient for near maxing out details in this game @ 80 FPS?
  • I understand the internals are the same, but I'd prefer to get the Warthog for a few reasons (#1 brrrrrrt #2 metal > plastic). For those that have either the T16000M and/or Warthog, how's the setup nowadays? I've heard the latter can be a huge PITA from outdated script like software to map buttons, but I'm not sure what it's like now.
