Why balance?

We all know that warfare is unfair. SO why balance weapon systems? Put vehicles up against vehicles that stand a fair chance of taking each other out. Thoughts?
Accurate structural models, simulated damage(calculated based on the amount, type and burn speed of explosive and amount of material that would turn into shrapnel), more detailed and more overall modules. No nerfed nonpenetration hits. No nerfing a system because it's "too effective"No Stanley knife style airframe breaks. Redo Air battle objects so that bombers feel relevant and the fighters want to protect them( Maybe time-based matches with Assault style respawns and objects to protect from the enemy team)
