How To Get Good In Jets (F-84G) On Console?

Post Body

During the sales, I picked up the F-84G for China, since I heard its a solid plane for both air and ground battles, while not being toooo unfriendly beginners.

I've been trying to play it in air battles, but feel like I'm always getting annihilated, getting 0 kills most matches and my best match so far having 2 kills. Even after watching several gameplay and tips videos for jets, it feels like I can actually put into practise the info. Especially when it comes to manoeuvres.

Generally I try use my airspawn to climb to somewhere between 5km and 7km and maybe intercept some bombers if there's any, and if not I try and pick off enemies who are behind the initial ball of planes. Yet somehow always seem to end up with people below me and slower than me ending up killing me. I'm not competent enough to figure out why.

Any time I get into a dogfight, no matter what I do it feels like enemies are ending up on my tail. And when trying to reflect I just dont understand where I went wrong. Is there any reliable guides for console players, or some maybe really obvious tips I'm missing because I'm over thinking? Or even just tips for the F-84G in particular. Or controller setups for that matter. Thank you.
