I deleted my previous post. I apologize to whoever I upset with my "Ashfur" post. I haven't read the books in a while and I stopped after The Power of Three. Most of my knowledge of the series now comes from MAPs and the rest of the fandom, but I do plan to start reading them again
As for my previous Ashfur thoughts, I still like him as a character. I agree that his behavior toward Squirrel was unjustified and off, and what he did during the fire was also inexcusable. Despite all that, I still like him
Here's a reply I sent to someone from my deleted post explaining a bit more of my stand point
"I like complex characters and I see them both as very complex. I like to dig deeper into their characters by imagining what else we couldve gotten with them, especially with their limited interactions with each other. I like the idea of Hawkfrost slowly manipulating Ash into doing what they did to Firsestar. Maybe he uses the fact that they both don't really have mothers to relate to and bond with Ash
I'm not saying what Ash did was justified, I see it more as "well that's just where the story went, maybe we can give reasons why it went that way" and I personally like the idea that Ash's unpopularity in the clan, Hawk's manipulation and Squirrel's rejection is what caused him to snap. I just like that 🤷♂️"
As you can see, most of my thoughts on Ash are headcanons. We don't get much when it comes to the characters in Warriors, especially interactions, so I come up with my own to make it more interesting. People are free to not like that, but for me, it's one of the many things that make me like the story more. And that's all, I'll be back to just posting art soon
