first off, NO spoilers from thunder!! i'm still ~14 weeks before libby comes through.

but i'm so annoyed with all the talk in more recent arcs about how the senior medicine cat needs a sign from starclan to prove that some cat is allowed to be their apprentice. cinderpelt didn't have a sign! heck, littlecloud didn't have a sign! homeboy literally just decided that being a medicine cat was cool after cinderpelt healed him. the clans never used to rely on starclan this heavily. even puddleshine was just an arbitrary choice that happened to work out. mudfur CHOSE to be a medicine cat, and everyone just accepted (i mean, not really, but compared to recent books? they accepted).

i love these books, and i know we ALL have beef with starclan these days, but seriously? frostpaw starting her apprenticeship way later than her littermates??? back in the older books, she would've been welcomed into the medicine cat den right away.
