Could Kroot work in warhammer fantasy?

People always talk about adding fantasy concepts to 40k but you rarely see the opposite. I always thought Kroot would work well as a southlands race to make that area more interesting and distinct from Lustria. Their low tech but could maybe have guns purchased from empire traders and the like. Keep their beasties like kroothounds and krootox and their ability to take on the traits of things they eat could be interesting to apply the many monsters of fantasy. Thoughts?
