As the title suggests brand spanking new to 40k. Decent AoS Experience. Love the CSM look Lore so when asked to do an escalation campaign for 40k figured I'd dive in (500 - 1000 - 1500 - 2000). All this planning is pre-purchase, willing to buy whatever.

Long term plan will be to run tournaments so I figure starting out with that in mind will save me time in the long run.

Planning on starting with the Start Collecting and going from there. From comp list research I see that cultists are go to troops but generally I prefer playing fewer, tanker troops. Willing to play cult blob to be competitive if I need to. Also yes I realize terminators probably aren't meta but they're just gorgeous models.

General plan is long range, slow slogging gun repeating murder force, deep strike with terminators as needed while getting noise marines in position to double shoot with cacophony vets prescience. Will ramp that up as we build towards 2k.
