Primaries lieutenant weapon choices

Hello! I built my Primaris Lieutenant from the recruit edition and the model has a pistol ( I think neo-volkite one, looks different from bolt), shield, and a sword on his hip. Does he have to use this combo in play now? I see by default in data sheet they come with bolt pistol, master auto rifle. Can I still use the rifle? Iām confused by all the options what combos I can actually do! Thanks
