So I’ve helped to establish the local 40K scene in my area and got it to take off back in mid 8th edition, since then I have been running escalation leagues at our FLGS. We haven’t had a problem with points increases and new missions this entire time, even with the transition into 9th and it’s mission pack release structure and bundling points to those releases. This most recent league we were using the 2021 missions when the war zone nachmund mission pack is released 3 days before our next and final escalation. This caused some consternation within the leagues player base because the points changes are bundled to the mission pack. A couple of the players are complaining/whining (at least that’s what it sounds like to me and I might be biased on that) that we’re using “nachmund points” but not using the missions. They way I’ve always looked at points changes is that they’re independent of the missions regardless of how they’re delivered. I’m curious what are the community’s thoughts on a scenario like this. Personally I think it doesn’t matter what missions your playing the points changes affect everybody no matter what mission set you’re using. Thoughts?
