Cheap daemon prince of nurgle

Got my first gt coming up in a week and i need another nurgle dp without wings. The tournament is wyswig to a certain extent so I was thinking of taking a plague champion with powerfist and plage swird, and putting him in a 60mm base.
Would this work? The models are very similar and the base will make it take up the same space as a regular dp.
