One of my best friends is super into warhammer 40K and I’m starting to get into it to (DEAR GOD IS THIS STUFF HARD TO GRASP) but I’m having trouble finding out what need to know to work with. See we’re playing a tabletop RPG where there’s a ton of science fiction universes kinda interconnected, mainly Star Wars, and in fact the Imperium of man are kind of... the villains. Hey I get that they do whatever they need to do but good lord I’d take xenomorph overlords over some of the shit these guys do. I’ve done, and am doing, lots of research so I can accurately use the Imperium of man properly and he’s helping a lot but I have a major problem. I have no idea who any of the decent characters are. There are lots but there’s so many and so many that are like literal gods or similarly leveled guys. Basically I need an imperium leader who’s a real bastard even by the standards of the imperium. Like someone who’d even make the sith see the imperium as way too dangerous to allow to take a foot hold. (Currently only one major force of the imperium has made it over... because if it was the whole army this war would last like 5 seconds.) Any ideas on characters I could use, tactics I should consider, or maybe tips on making a realistic imperium general or leader? Thank you very much, please don’t shoot me for any heresy I may have even considered committing, and feel free to ridicule my absolute ignorance and terribly boring wall of text.
