Is there a way to get rules and datasheets without getting a odex

Hi not sure if this is the right place to ask but iam doing it anyway :). I have been painting models for a while now but i want to give accually playing the game a go but am not really sure what army i would enjoy. So I am wondering if there is a way to overview the rules and datasheets of a few factions to figuere out how they work and if i would enjoy them. I know there where index cards online but they dont seem to work anymore for some reason.
