Question about Warhammer Fantasy Battle 6th Edition

This is probably a dumb question but in 6th Edition Warhammer, I looked at the Vampire Counts army book and I notice that Vampire Lords and Counts don’t have mundane armor listed in their options, while thralls do. Is this intentional and is this cause they do magic?
