Chalky finish to model after priming
Post Body

I recently used wraithbonee primer for my model however it left a faint chalkyness to some of the areas. I’ve already gone in with a toothbrush to clean some of it up but there’s some spots that I just can’t remove the grain from. Do I need to strip the whole thing or can I just try to brush it off. Any tips for removing chalky finish would be helpful

Yea I think there was a couple factors that made it worse, my distance to the mini was as a bit off, and it was a bit too hot so I think it dried before it reached the mini. I’ve gone over it with a toothbrush and removed as much of the texture as I could. Going back and repainting those areas and now it has a smooth finish for the most part. Yea will most likely avoid white primers from citadel in the future tho I never had this issue with corax white primer in the past and it went on smoothly but again I think there were some other outside factors. It had also been a while since I primed so I was a bit rusty. I’ll send an updated picture soon of how it’s looking after brushing and repaints.

Thank you I’ve been scrubbing for a while now to try and recover it and I also painted over in a few thin layers with wraithbone and things are looking much smoother. Yea I think it was a combo of humidity and me just being slightly too far from the mini. It has been a while since I primed a model so I think I just misjudged a little. It’s in a pretty healthy state now. I shook for like 4 minutes guess I gotta shake harder next time.
