I just don't get it, is it a reference to something? The four chaos gods all have followers and demons that have their own flair Nurgle corpulent and diseased followers sell the fantasy the best, Khornes more generic red demons with spikes and horns communicate their deal well enough, Birds have a history of being used to symbolize wisdom and mystique along with the brilliant hues of blue giving his realm and demons a otherworldly feel. Then there is Slaneesh and I am just not sure what they were going for, it's not that I hate it or anything I am more or less just confused by the choice, the arch tempter a cult of followers committed to all forms of hedonistic dalliance are ..... crustaceans?
My brain just has a hard time accepting demons and mutations, every-time i look at them I can't help but think how goofy they look not to mention they in my personal opinion have the ugliest faces of any of the main 4s demons. I think they are trying to go with uncanny and yet alluring but they just come across as simply revolting to me with the exception of Azazel who I think does an ok job of being that weird middle ground.
I guess I just would have expected something more cenobite like but I suppose they are a little too humanoid to be demons and they needed some other worldly quality but nothing about an exoskeleton and pincers screams erotic.
