Post Body

So I have maybe 30 hours in so far, have unlocked a few planets worth of places just following along with the game's natural progression. I tend to prefer to play solo, as sometimes I'm in a rush to get through a node and just hit the objectives and move on, while at other times I'm stopping to "smell the flowers" and just absorb the atmo, farm gear, help level my kubrow, etc. I'm using Excal.

I hit a spot of confusion trying to move into Vox Solaris (working towards some kind of Archwing part IIRC) and now I'm looking for some guidance. Firstly, when I go out into these worlds where they have markets and such I keep seeing vendors that will deal in stuff like gems and fish and it makes me think there are tasks similar to mining and herbalism (like from WoW) but I can't buy anything from these people because I don't have any Standing and I don't understand how to get Standing. So any info there would be nice.

Also, I'm slamming my head into a wall over some of these quests where I (23xcal) am getting absolutely CRUSHED by these low level (like level 5-6) bucketheads called Terran Trenchers. They seem utterly broken, but I don't know if maybe I stumbled into something weirdly up-scaled for my level. I would think that opening a hub planet like this in a system I'm active in would be fairly straightforward, but these quests broke me last night.

Lastly, what's the scoop on the apparently temporary "double" status of some nodes on the star chart, where you can do the regular content *or* select some other activity going on there? Is that more group-oriented than standard star chart quest progression? I did one of those void rift missions last night and almost didn't make it through, but I wanted to try unlocking a relic and managed to survive to accomplish that.
