Why do some sentinel weapons allow me to put vigilante modes on them and some don’t?

I want the set bonus for the vigilante mod on my primary by equipping my sentinel weapon with vigilante mods but the deconstructor doesn’t allow you to put them on it while the sweeper, for example, does. What should I use for sentinel weapons in order to get the vigilante set bonus?
