The Circuit is, functionally, a tiny, week-long battle pass. Except most companies, when they give you a battle pass, they design it with the most "desirable" reward as the stretch goal, so you're forced to do the whole thing if you want the reward you "really" wanted.
Not DE though. DE is just fucking built different. Not only do you pick the rewards that go INTO your battle pass, but you pick what tier said rewards come at.
You really want the Latron genesis adapter? Select it first. Boom - it's your tier 5 reward. Even if you can't finish your circuit this week, at least you got the reward that meant the most to you.
DE sincerely deserves massive praise for this system - it's almost unbelievable it's so good. And whether or not you have qualms with the roguelike nature of the Circuit, I think we can all agree that deterministic loot is a good thing, and we should speak up to that effect.
I've been playing since fortuna's launch and I still to this day see PoE and jump to Prison of Elders before Plains of Eidolon, and I haven't played destiny basically since I started playing Warframe

I like to think of it as rngesus is the head honcho with lower aspects that actually delegate the drops, like one for random enemy drops, one for loot bags/relic packs, one for mission rewards, etc
