New player , first play through, adaptive or region lock?

I love linear progression like DOS2 and free exploration like Bannerlord . I think I would be able to enjoy in both ways, but still wanna hear your suggestion for my first play through. Whats your thought?

I prefer adaptive. When I played region locked, I found that fights became overly difficult if I didn't spend a lot of time grinding. I never felt any need to grind levels/equipment in adaptive.
