Regarding Counterattack Mechanics
Post Body

I just got done with a two private events using default rules and on both of them we got completely screwed by the counterattack mechanic. On both events we were the Union regiment and we took the point and it went into overtime but because there was one rebel who decided to waltz into the point of contention and caused it to end the overtime causing the Union to lose the match.

This is obviously unfair to anyone who has the point of contention at the end of a match when it goes into overtime. Here's some proposals to fix this:

  1. In the event of a counterattack, the counter-attackers must take the point of contention to the point that it becomes "friendly" at the 12 o'clock position on the compass.

  2. In the event of a counterattack the counter-attackers must take the point of contention to the point that it becomes "friendly" fully, with the compass fully in their control.

The first option seems the most favorable to the counter-attacker, the second option feels most favorable to those defending the point of contention.

My apologies if this post may seem salty but I would really like to thank the event hosts (United European server) because their events are incredibly fun every time, I just found this one aspect of the base game annoying. I especially love the 7th WV boys, I always feel safe with them at our flank <3.

I hope someone from Campfire Games sees my suggestion and takes it into consideration. I understand they have a lot on their plate right now working on updates and with the current virus situation they may not be working at full capacity, it just seems like something that should be fixed.
