AOS/Warcry Fluff

I am someone who left GW when they ended WHFB. I was uninterested in the new game they created and most of my armies were not ones they were focusing on. I loved the formed ranks of the game...blah...blah...blah.
That said, warcry is something I am really interested in. However, I have no idea what fluff occurred that got us from WHFB setting to AOS. So, can anyone give me a good description of what is going on?
