Buying scrap silver

Hello
I've started buying 1oz silver britannias. I'm from the UK. I've just started looking at buying scrap silver jewellery and other silver items.
Just wondering if anybody else collects. 925 and .999 silver this way? And if so any advice or tips on if it's worth keep the silver in its bought form or potentially melting it down into small bars
