I needed some emergency funds because of a family emergency, I had a 100 oz silver JM brick bar and I wanted to sell at a little over spot 25.22 at the time, (I wanted $2550) I called differently pawn shops, cash for gold, silver and gold pawn shops, and 1 coin shop. To see how much I can sell my bar for, First pawn shop I called and they said that they are not interested Second pawn shop I called and the guy said he would pay 17.50 per oz Third I called the Cash for gold and they offered 2400 I was starting to give up on the price and assumed I would have to settle for 2400. I called a “Silver and gold pawn shop” and they offered 2500 My last try, I called a LCS and asked them how much they would offer me for the bar, they guy says, 2650$ but that offer is good for today! I ran there so quick! Moral of the story here is, I found it very difficult to get a fair price for the bar but the local coin shop was hassle free, straight to the sale and that’s the end of that. Literally the smoothest sale of my life and I got 100$ extra then what I was asking for.
