Am I overreacting?
Post Body

Seriously would like to know 😅

Now I know retail pharmacies are hell and busy so I’d like to know if I’m tripping or I should be a little pissed off.

Daughter has an Rx that she went to pickup from Walgreens as it was sent last week. The technician says “it’s not going through” and to call our insurance. So she calls me and says Dad I’m not sure what’s going on. It the pharmacy says my RX won’t go through and that if I want to pay cash it’s $40. I asked her why isn’t it going through she said “idk that’s just what the person at the pharmacy told me.

So I call the insurance and say hey Walgreens says this Rx isn’t going g through and they asked me “what’s the rejection?” I’m like I don’t know they just said it’s not going through. The representative tells me that she doesn’t see any claims for today then starts to look at claims over the last week and can’t find one rejection. After about 15 minutes of her doing research she says it looks like Walgreens got a paid claim 10 minutes ago while I was doing research. So I thanked her and hung up to call Walgreens.

The pharmacist picked up and I gave him the information and he says “we got a paid claim give me an hour” I then asked very calmly if he could tell me what the initial issue was that caused the delay in the first place and he said that the drug is normally run for a 90 day supply but the plan wants it run for a 30 day supply so he had to put some weird override in. But when he said it to me he seemed a little irritated that I wanted to know what the problem was. I told him that the communication from the pharmacy to my daughter was not informative enough for us to Receive a solution from the insurance. I felt that if we were armed with the day supply info I could’ve got an answer for it and helped out or they could’ve called the insurance themselves for the override. My kids say sometimes I get mad over nothing lol so I just wanted to ask those that work at Walgreens am I asking for to much? Is this the norm? Should I cut them some slack considering they are likely very busy?
