The equipment, software, and workflow is outdated! The RX software is 20 years old. Our phones are archaic and don't ever work properly. The drive thru speaker sounds like static. We have one monitor at the front counter to run two desktops and 5 programs for vaccines, goodrx, POS, rewards, etc.
This is my biggest gripe as a pharmacy technician!
Our company makes billions and pays executives millions to say pretty words and make vague promises.
Wal-Mart had a system in 2007 that was more advanced than what I use daily at Walgreens today.
We could actually be faster if we had faster and more efficient software.
THIS SHOULD BE THE NUMBER ONE ITEM EVERYONE NEEDS TO YELL!
Patients, employees, stockholders, and medical professionals need to DEMAND that Walgreens invest in its digital infrastructure. We need a brand new pharmacy program AND a new POS provider.
I'm just an overqualified pharmacy French fry flipper but I know business. Invest in the software and the digital data management. Your employees will perform their duties more accurately and efficiently. Your patients will experience a new and improved process. This will encourage more add-ons and improve motivation from disgruntled employees.
The system we use was last supported by its design company in 2005. It was integrated in 1998 and enhanced last 2001.
Give us a system that processes vaccines quickly and eliminates various manual technician tasks.
