Non-dualism feels like spiritual solipsism
Post Body

The promise of non-dual recognition is that the borders between yourself and the outside world will dissolve. By recognizing there is no perceiver separate from the perceived, all will become one and love will gush forth. This sounds awesome, but I find a hang up. If every experience of the world is a private phenomena appearing solely within your consciousness, then how is this not a more lonely, less connected view? How does this lead to a merging of consciousness with others and fuller connection with the beauty and wonders of the outer world? If anything, it makes witnessing an entirely self-indulgent experience, one that forever lacks the ability to know anything outside of the truth of itself. The outside world becomes entirely interior, and as such, utterly meaningless.

Am I misunderstanding something here? I am asking genuinely, because I am confused how this is supposed to lead to an enlightened, equanimous life. Thank you!
