So, the first question pertains to my dog, the second to my parents dogs.
My dog is a pit/boxer mix, and is very good with people. HOWEVER, he gets a bit nervous when he's on a leash and sees a stranger coming at him. He doesn't bite or act aggressive, but he can bark (in a "I'm scared" way) and try to turn around to go the other way (he doesnt yank the leash, just turns his body). Is there any way I can have a walker take him on a practice walk to see how they handle his nerves? I'd pay for it, but I want to be home in case they need me to come get him, or if they feel he's too jittery for them. He loves walks, and I walk him near every day, but some days I work late, and I have a chronic illness that flares from time to time, so I'd love a second option so he can get out and about.
Secondly, my mom has an older beagle (9) and a goldie (6). The goldie has a small problem with his joint. He is not in any pain, but sometimes he gets a bit sore, and we have to cut our walks short so he can rest. He also has a gland problem, so he's a bit heavy (we have him on a special diet to actively lose weight). The beagle walks fine, but obviously he's a little older, so he too may need a break, or to cut the walk short. I (my parents) would be willing to pay full for the walk, but would you guys as a walker feel comfortable with "special needs" dogs like that? Aiden (goldie) will start to limp because his joint is just giving him issues, and Puk (beagle) will just slow down and get a little tired. Both of these dogs are perfect angels with people and on walks. They don't pull, they walk nice, if they see another dog they get excited but can easily be distracted. One is just older and the other just has his joint issues, and I'd like to make sure the walker feels comfortable turning around at any point.
