I run a universe mode full of different types of yearly tournaments and such.
I use a dice roller to pick competitors for matches and match types (d4 to determine if it's a 1v1, 2v2, triple threat or fatal four-way, d33 for competitors), and I use winners to decide who is in a number one contenders match, etc.
My favorite thing I run is the Bound For Glory series (a good TNA idea for once). From the night after Wrestlemania, all members in the 6 brands (RAW, SD, AEW, NJPW, Stardom, and Frontline [another women's brand]) compete. Matches are planned the same way. Winners will get 7 points if pinfall, 10 for submission, and a bonus 3 if it's a stipulation match (which is the last match of the card every time). 3 points for DQ, 2 for count-out.
PPV wins do not count points.
At Money In the Bank, the top 6 of RAW/SD, AEW/NJPW, and Stardom/Frontline get thrown in an elimination chamber match. The Bound for Glory Chamber. Winner receives a 1v1 match for the top title at SummerSlam (or their brand's PPV equivalent).
The next 6 for each brand gets put in the Money in the Bank ladder match.
It keeps it new, fresh, and lets people break into the main event scene.
Now, today I've finally made a feast or fired match type. The next card after SummerSlam.
I make a Rumble (10 man rumble from each brand) of the next highest 10 of the Bound for Glory. The final 5, are the winners. However, before the match, I roll a d5, but don't look at the results, since I use an online roller. This lets me enjoy watching the match.
1 = Main title Shot of their brand
2= Secondary title shot of their brand
3 = Tag Title shot
4= Tag Title Shot
5 = Fired.
The people who are fired get switched brands and take the place of the fired person from another brand.
Is this way too much? Probably. But if you're looking for something new, I highly recommend this. I've been adapting and working on this universe type mode with dice and such for over 5 years.
After how bad 2k20 has been shown, I'll be running another year of 2k19.
Hope you all enjoy
