So, I have not watched wrestling since the late 90's, but I have started again over the last few months, and I have watched Raw and Smackdown (even attended the Atlanta show) every week for the last month and a half. I remember the WCW merge and that bringing in the new titles, and then the Raw/Smackdown Brands having their own titles (although I don't know who the holders were as I was not watching then). Can someone explain why the Heavyweight Championship has both belts? And why the need for an IC and a US Champ? What are the rankings in prestige for the titles these days?

Sorry for sounding like a complete noob, but my 11 year old son has sucked me back into the world of WWE.
