I mean, no hate to the Undertaker, he is one of the greatest, but just imagne the pop when the glass shattered. And the Rock and Stone Cold also had such an great rivaly, it would have made more sense to me tbh.
I feel like people are underestimating how awesome it was for the gong to hit, Undertaker to appear out of nowhere, hit the choke slam and then disappear. It seamlessly fit with all the chaos, movement and interference.
As much as I love Austin, he wasn’t gonna run down the ramp like Cena (who was struggling). He was gonna take his sweet time, hit his finisher and then walk out of there. It would’ve been a drawn out sequence for a simple Stunner. Also, are we seriously still complaining about the ending of the match? As a kid during the Attitude Era, I lost it multiple times.
Simply put, Undertaker had history with Roman and his family, Austin, not so much.
