I’ve seen quite a few people (myself included) mention that they just recently got back into watching wrestling in the last few years. For those who did stop watching for a while, when and why did you stop? And what made you get back into it?
Personally I started watching as a kid in the early 90’s, and was a huge fan throughout the whole decade (fun fact: I’ve only attended one live event in my lifetime and it was the Curtain Call at MSG). By the early to mid 2000’s it started losing steam for me and I mostly just checked in every once in a while to see what HBK was up to since that was my guy. Once he retired I was pretty much done. I figured I’d just grown out of it.
A few years ago I started listening to Cornette’s podcasts, mostly for the wrestling nostalgia, but when they started covering modern wrestling, hearing them talk about the bloodline storyline got me a little intrigued. I started checking out the YouTube clips and following along with it, and slowly but surely they drew me back in.
I can honestly say this is probably the most I’ve enjoyed Wrestling since 1999.
