Can switching Drive Modes cause a WRX STI to enter Limp Mode?
Post Body

I have a completely stock 2020 Subaru WRX STI (Limited Trim if that matters). I stopped at a fast food drive thru on my way home from work yesterday when suddenly almost every light on the dash lit up like a christmas tree as I was driving out of the parking lot. Since then, I've identified that it had changed into limp mode. I drove home, inspected the engine, I didn't hear, smell, or see anything noteworthy that could've caused it. I turned the car off then on again just to see what would happen. The only change was that the ABS light was now on after restarting the car for some reason. I drove the car the same way as I typically do when driving to/from work. I would describe it as spirited driving but with mechanical empathy.

I'm aware that there are 9001 things in the car that could cause it to enter limp mode. But one thing I remember doing differently is changing the drive mode a bit more often today than I typically do. Between driving to and from work yesterday I changed the drive mode 2-3 times in total from either sport -> intelligence or vice versa. I never swapped to sport#. It also might be worth noting that yesterday was likely the hottest day of the year so far in my state. It didn't enter limp mode immediately after switching drive modes though, it occurred maybe 30 mins after the last time I switched.

I'm planning to get the codes read tomorrow to get a better idea. But I was curious if anyone has had a similar experience and can confirm that it's possible swapping the drive modes (while in motion) could have caused the car to enter limp mode.
