Hello all,
So I've in this class for well over a month now. I started out on the V5 material, and unfortunately failed the OA 2 times in a row. I took a week off for a mental break, then asked my pm to switch me to the V4 version so I could access the extra practice tests and material. I then decided to pay the $150 out of pocket and take the CIW Web development Associate (ID0-610) certificate exam. The exam is 90 multiple choice questions and you only need a 63% to pass. There were about 7-9 questions that I straight up guessed on since the material is only slightly different. Everything else was basically straight forward.
Dealing with the CIW website as well as the people who monitor you during the exam was a pain in the ass. It is not as nearly as smooth as the WGU monitoring system. so just be prepared for that.
After passing CIW, There are specific instructions you must follow to receive the certificate, if you do not do that you will not receive the cert. I received my cert a day or two after completing their instructions.
I then had to send my certificate to my pm and wgu scores. He then took my cert and had to appeal to his manager on my behalf to have certificate count as a pass for the class. That took about another 2 days. I just received an email this morning that the appeal was approved and I now have a pass on the c779 class. This is has been a huge relief as this class has really been stressing me out. Ive seen many other posts with people struggling with this class since the OA and the study material doesnt really match up. Even if you pass the OA you might as well pay to take the Cert exam, so you can added it to your resume.
So basically the announcement is you can take a certificate exam even though your transcripts have been accepted and you're already enrolled in the class. Hope this helps for anyone prepping to take this class!
