C708 Principles of Finance - How I Passed
Post Body

Good evening lovely folks, just figured I'd drop a review of my time in this course since there has been a lot of hate/panic about it in the past.

Total time from Starting Course to Passing OA: 6 Weeks

Actual Time Studying: ~4 Hours

This class freaked me out. I opened it at the start of my term, failed the PA by a large margin. Got a scary email for the CI saying "PA and OA don't align!" Anyway, it spooked me. I finished some other classes and kept putting it off. The COVID happened, so I continued to put it off due to the "well I can't schedule a test ANYWAY." Two days ago I finally realized this class and my capstone were literally all that was between me and my degree and if I'm considering grad programs, I need to just suck it up and do it.

Yesterday, I watched all the cohort videos on 1.5 speed. I practiced all the math problems until I could easily look at a question and figure out what it was asking. This morning, I took all the module review quizzes and skimmed the sections I needed work on. Did some more math problems, then it was test time.

FYI- this exam (version 4) is NOT math heavy. You can pass this exam and fail every math problem, I'm pretty sure. Understand concepts (time value of money, bonds/stocks/interest) and how they apply in the world. Remember your previous coursework about C-corpa/S-corps/etc. This exam was challenging, but not HARD.

Anyway, I'm about to spend this week writing my capstone, hoping to be done and submit it by Friday!
