This is a vent/rant post along with a mini question.
I started medication for ADHD this year. First I tried adderall, and it made me feel maybe 1% more productive at 60mg. I swapped to vyvance and am now at 60mg, and itās been a game changer. Iām able to actually start completing tasks.
I have found itās so easy now to start a task. I donāt think āTo do this task, I need all these things and need to prep for this task.ā I just get up and do it.
Itās so easy to get out of bed now. Itās so easy to brush my teeth and wash my face. Itās so easy to clean my room and my fish tank. Itās so easy to start assignments and study for school. I donāt need extra help to understand school concepts now because my mind is paying attention to the words Iām reading, rather than not comprehending anything Iām reading and just assuming I understand it.
The only thing is, itās still a little difficult to me to do another task after I complete a larger task first. For example, the other day I cleaned my fish tank. It took 3 hours, and then when I was done, I could not study. I couldnāt even comprehend any information I was reading for school. Itās like my āfocus batteryā ran out. When I was trying to study, all I was thinking was how I should make a new planner because I want one with flowers, and how I need to make a few appointments, and how I should put those appointments into my planner once I finish making one with flowers, so before I can even make an appointment I need to make a new planner. It was a whole rabbit hole and I spent an hour āstudyingā when that is all I was thinking about when reading and writing my course material. This is still not as bad as before medication, however, I still would love to be able to stay focused on something after I complete a task that needs a lot of focus.
Anyone else feel like they have a āfocus batteryā on vyvance? Does anyone have any tips on how I can battle this?
I donāt have any tips but I hope to one day feel this as well! It sounds amazing š
