Are 240's known for small legroom up front? I test drove one and couldn't shift gears.
Post Body

There was a really nice 240gl wagon for sale on craigslist near me (vancouver, washington, usa) with manual gearing. I test drove it about 20 feet, which is when it became apparent that even with the seat all they way back, there was no way I could shift gears well. My knees and legs banged the steering wheel and dash trying to operate the clutch and brakes.

I'm not particularly tall (6 feet) but have slightly longer than usual legs.

Would a 240 with a tilt steering column help, or should I move my search up to a 7xx, 9xx, 850, or v70 series? I can drive my friend's 1999 XC70 fine (of course, it's automatic)
