I wrote this post recently and I'm happy to see my opinion of the show completely turned around S3. I won't make a wall of text gushing but the show has definitely more than found its footing.
I recently started S7 and am on ep5 and something feels...off. It's 13 episodes which kind of gives me the feeling that they were asked to make more episodes at a lower budget. The animation feels lazier (or rather, deliberately safer) in a lot of places. They do the 'character becomes poorly drawn' joke that a lot of anime do much more, and there are a lot of static shots of characters kind of sitting not doing much. Even when they went through the crystal field in a recent episode the explosions were notably much simpler.
The episodes are still good, just something I noticed. Did Netflix ask for more episodes at the same budget or...?
