i have been doing this for a while to decent success and i thought this was normal but apparently not, according to lolalytics plat volibears max Q first very rarely despite it having a pretty significant winrate advantage over everything else.

W-Q-E is the most common one, 51% winrate 62% play rate

then you have W-E-Q which is 48% winrate 18% play rate

E-W-Q which is 45% winrate with a 7% play rate

and only after that do we find Q-W-E which has a 55% winrate but only a 6% play rate

i guess, more than anything, I'm really curious why so many people max E before Q, or max E first even? WQE is sensible and fine in matchups that can only trade in melee range but maxing Q, or putting 3 points in Q into W max, gives volibear so much more consistency in actually forcing trades to happen. This trend is consistent over the last couple patches, too; Q max first has anywhere from a 1-3% winrate over the next highest option
