And I found a thread on this sub from 3 years ago saying to please do not take them up on their expensive coaching offer. The thread is locked so I cannot comment on it. I was really tempted to go for it. I am tired of my day job and want to make more money and enjoy what I do. I felt that John was insightful, candid and did not seem like he was trying to entice or blow smoke. There were times he made it very clear that this industry could be tough for some people, I just think it might be something I could excel in.
The next day I talked to Danette over the phone, who gave me her thoughts on my script read as well as pitching their coaching program with a discount. She wants to know by Monday if I will take her up on that or no discount. I've looked at their resources, I like what they have to offer and think maybe it is worth it. It didn't sound like I was paying for a weekend but a series of classes that may span months with extensive one-on-one training and eventually help building a demo. But I've seen a few on the internet that are begging me not to do something like that, that there are less expensive ways to get into doing this. But if there are, then I'm not sure what. For what it's worth, I live on Long Island and work a 9-5. Can anyone help/advise/steer me in the right direction?
Also, is this something where at the end of the training, I am then pushed into taking even more expensive options still without getting work? What worked for you when you were just starting?
